With how busy our lives have been lately, we decided not to plant any flowers this year. I just didn't want one extra thing I'd have to take care of. A couple of weeks ago, though, I woke up to a beautiful summer-like day. The sky was blue, the birds were chirping, it was warm, and it smelled like summer. After a very cold and rainy spring, this was a pleasant surprise. And in that moment, I decided I wanted to plant. Maybe it comes from the summers of my youth as we helped plant, weed, and harvest the garden. I knew the work would be worth it in the end. I love seeing the herbs and flowers grow. So I headed over to Milcreek Gardens and picked out some lovely herbs. We don't have a lot of space, so our "garden" consists of an assortment of planter boxes and pots. I decided against getting flowers there, though, since I knew I could get them cheaper elsewhere. I was very excited to get home and surprise Marc with my purchase. As I walked in our entryway, there was actually a surprise waiting for me. I looked out our front door to beautiful hanging pots. I found Marc upstairs planting flowers he had purchased that same morning. Without even discussing it, we both decided to plant a garden. The funny thing is, I got the herbs and Marc got the flowers. Between the two of us, we got the exact amount of plants for our pots. I guess you could say we kind of think alike.

This is our third summer doing a garden, and I think we're getting pretty good at it.
