ahhhh, isn't he cute?

you've had a birthday, shout HOORAY!!!

Dear Marc,
I had so much fun celebrating your birthday with you. What a lucky girl I am to have such a wonderful man in my life! There are so many things I love about you. I love your kind heart and your cheerful personality. You are so outgoing and everyone always feels at ease with you around (despite your large stature that may seem intimidating to some). I love your crazy sense of humor. Sometimes I don't always laugh, but that doesn't mean I'm not laughing on the inside. I love what a great shopping partner you are, probably the best I've ever had. You give me your honest opinion and it's really you who I'm trying to impress. I love when I get home from a long days work to find the dishes done, the carpet vacuumed, and the laundry done. I love climbing into bed in the morning with you after a night shift and falling asleep in your arms. I love smelling your calogne on the seat belt when I drive the car. I love when you surprise me at work and come just to say hi. I love your determination. Once you start a project, there's no stopping you until it's done. I love that my friends love you almost more than me. I love how much you love kids. I'm so happy you'll be the father of my children. I hope they all look just like you (but maybe start out a bit smaller). I love your long eyelashes and wiggly ears. I love your hugs and your sweet kisses. I love how safe you make me feel. I love how you never get mad at me, even when I'm cranky or snappy (which is way more than I want it to be, but I'm working on it). You just listen to me patiently and help me work through my moodiness. I love our prayers and FHE. I love going to church with you. I love to hear you bare your testimony. You have such a strong testimony and so much faith. You make me want to be a better person by your example. I love how much you love to serve. I love that I get to spend eternity with you. I love you more than words can express. Thanks for being you. Happy birthday, love!
Your adoring wife

I think he likes it.

I wanted to get him a cake from So Cupcake, but they weren't accepting orders for that day anymore. So I went out and got a mold and made a cake myself. It was a hit.

I hope his wish comes true.

GIVEAWAY!!!

My sister, Kati, is one amazing photographer. She did our engagements and bridals and is now taking on new clients. She has her blog page up and running and is doing a giveaway for one of her prints. Go to her site and check it out!

Remember this announcement? Well, Kati took all of the pictures and designed it, too. We couldn't have done our wedding without her!

goodbye, old friend, you shall be missed

That's right. After a year of being on the market, we finally sold the truck. It's a blessing, but also very sad. We have some really good memories in that truck. Even I got pretty attached. We're looking for something smaller and cheaper, but in the meantime have become a one-car family. It's pretty complicated. Every night before we go to bed, we have to plan out exactly how we're going to get around. I hope we find something soon.

Notice anything different?

Besides the fact that I think Marc has gotten more handsome since the day we were married, do you notice anything different between these two pictures? Look closely...

If you noticed that Marc no longer has braces in the second picture, then you're one smart cookie! Marc got them off over a month ago, but didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I thought it my duty to show him off, though. Doesn't he look great!? It was a long road, but worth it. I'm sure glad we didn't wait to get them off to get married, though (which we considered for a while).

I take it all back...

I want it to get very cold. I want it to freeze, and I want it to freeze hard. I want all the bugs to die. I came home from shopping today and found this next to my door in my garage. Needless to say, I do not like bugs, especially giant man-killing spiders.

reunions and reminiscing

This is the first week of school for Marc after a nice little vacation between semesters. I used to always get so excited about fall for the new semester in school and new adventures. But I also remember how sad I was for the summer to end. I must admit, I had some awesome summers in Idaho. I remember late night swims to Monkey Rock, ice cream overloads at the drive-in, bachelor parties (not much has changed), and much more. Idaho summers are pretty much magical. This year I don't have a new school year to look forward to. Life kind of changes as you get older. Or i guess you could say it doesn't change. I've been pretty sad these past few weeks for summer to end. Ask Marc. We've had a lot of fun this summer. A couple of weeks ago, we were lucky enough to head up to Idaho for a girls reunion with my high school girlfriends. It was so great to see them all and get to know their families better. Most of them had only met Marc for a few minutes at our wedding. These girls mean so much to me! They were there through some of the hardest times of my life. And we're still good friends! I miss not being able to see them every day. We definitely need to keep up this reunion tradition!

We missed not having Nikki. She had just had a beautiful baby girl only a few weeks before! Next year, Nikki!
